Our Bond
Like most credit unions, FHC comprises a group of people with a common bond who have united in the effort of obtaining a better lifestyle for themselves and their families.
Proof of Bond (How you qualify to become a member)
- All members of any religious body and affiliation in Jamaica and their families/relatives
- All Public Sector Employees, past and present, regardless of their terms of tenure, employed to Ministries/Departments/Agencies/Statutory Bodies/Public Corporations, and their families/relatives,
- All Professionals, their families/relatives and their employees and their families / relatives.
- All members of Professional Association affiliated to the Public Sector, their families /relatives and the employees of these Professional Associations and their families/relatives.
- All Public Sector Consultants and, their families/relatives
- All Public Sector Contractors, and their families /relatives
- Employees, past and present, of the Credit Union and their families/relatives
- All Registered Co-operative Societies and members of these Societies
- All persons, who were born, reside or resided, work or worked in the parish of St. Thomas and its environs.
Joint Savings & Loan Accounts
We facilitate joint accounts under the following requirements:
- Joint holder must be a Member of the Credit Union
- Joint holder must be 18 years and older
- Any saving account can be used
- The primary account holder is covered under the Life Savings and Loan Protection Insurance
How To Become a Member
Persons applying for membership are required to:
- Complete a Membership Application Form
- Pay the minimum amount required of $3,650
- A valid identification card (eg: Drivers License, Electoral Id, Passport (Documents must not have expired))
- TRN Card/ Tax Identification Number
- Proof of Address (eg: Utility Bill or Bank Statement in the applicants name, Letter from JP/Pastor/Employer (Documents should not be more than six months old))
- Proof of Bond Affiliation: (eg: Payslip, Job Letter)
- Two References (Please note that the Reference Form located below is to be completed by anyone of your two references and is REQUIRED for membership.)
List of acceptable references
- A member in good standing with the credit union for two (2) years
- Minister of Religion
- Justice of the Peace (must know individual for over two years
- Medical Doctor
- Police/ Army Officer (officer rank)
- Your Employer (HR Manager or higher)
- School Principal
- Manager of Financial InstitutionAttorney at law
- Registered Nurse
- Chartered Accountant
- Member of Parliament/ Parish Councillor
- Member of FHC Staff
- Post Master/Mistress
